Hi guys

for anyone who pre-orders before Friday 2nd April, we are going to be offering the opportunity to Beta test Storm of Arrows starting next week.

The only down side is that while Betat testing you will not be able to play any multiplayer games that were not started in the beta. When the beta is complete all your multiplayer games will sitting there waiting for you.

We'll send out beta details to everyone who pre-ordered. You dont have to join in but you'll all be eligible as long as you ordered in time.

Does this apply to RoR games?

i.e. If a current RoR player is in the middle of a bunch of RoR multiplayer games then will these games be frozen while the beta tester is testing?

Beta on a separate PC?

If the beta is installed on a separate PC, will it remain possible to continue to play non-beta games on the PC without the beta installed?

All games will be frozen. You could maintin another installation on a separate PC and this would be ok. You cant run both at the same time though!

I'd be quite willing to live with the limitation that I can't be playing on line games simultaneously on the two PCs. I skipped applying for the RoR beta specifically because I didn't want to run into problems with games I had going then for the tournament and for the League. At this point just having two separate installations on separate PCs should deal with that type of issue from what you say.

I installed FoG on my clunky old laptop just to be able to beta test RoR without interfering with my league games. It work just dandy.

Great notice but not all hehehe, i have a question, what type of installer is used in the beta??? autoinstaller like in RoR where it detected the FoG folder or you can select the destiny folder???... if the beta is only a rar or zip file you only need unrar them in the FoG folder, i ask this because i start a leage/tourney and need the RoR at 100% and if is possible install the beta where i want i can do a copy of FoG folder and use it as test place

PD: well, now i can go tomorrow to the library and take the book about battle of las Navas de Tolosa

It will probably use the same installer - its just too much extra work to do a different one. That means its best to have the 2nd install on another PC.

Ok, thanks for the fast reply... ummm i think that if is like RoR there isnt a specific uninstall exe for SoA, only the FoG, and can copy the FoG+RoR folder and install the Beta then when i want use multiplayer can change the folders, a poor solution but i think that it could works... maybe

Another solution is of course to set up a second booting partition on your PC and just install your beta to that 'version' of the OS.

Ummm i have only installed Vista but have 2 hard disks one with 2 partitions, i have smaller for windows and then have the biggest HD with 2 parts, one for storage and other to install there programs... but prefer copy the actual FoG folder and save it, then apply the beta and when want play multi change the folders and when final SoA arrive patch the original folder... i like "complicated" tactics

"The only down side is that while Betat testing you will not be able to play any multiplayer games that were not started in the beta."

You cannot play in the league with the same version you play the Beta. You would need another copy. Beta copes will only be able to see beta games.

Don't know if you are late but I pre-ordered mid-March and I didn't received any email about SoA beta. Then I think it's not yet started.
