Big Bug > Sea Control campaign

I purchased the game on 26 March. I did not have the patience to finish the Tutorial campaign, having already played other (somewhat) similar Slitherine games (Legion, Chariots, Spartan, Troy). I then preferred to dive right into the long "Sea Control" campaign, playing as Egypt.

On turn 1, I launched constructions in the 2 starting cities : that's all. I then clicked the end-turn button. The numerous A.I. players were processed, and I got the financial update screen.

But then, I got hammered, before the beginning of turn 2, by a message telling me that I had lost the campaign because I had not achieved the campaign objective of holding 75% of a group of cities !?!

How could I have achieved that in only one turn?!! The campaign's pre-game description specified a target date (which included a lot of turns, of course!) : how come I was only allowed to play one single turn?!

I reloaded the save-game file a few times, and the Sea Control campaign always ended, at each and every attempt, after turn 1, with the same defeat message. Exiting the game program to restart did not fix the problem.

My software is a legitimate copy, which has been registered to my Slitherine account.

It is obviously a "bug", but I have no idea if it affects other users. That campaign must have been tested : has this bug not occurred before, to other players?

Any idea how I can play that Sea Control campaign? Is there a way to edit a text file to remove the campaign objective? I'm willing to play it in a "sandbox" mode, with no victory objective.

Read philo103 post and tried the same compaign and also used Egypt and had the identical thing happened. The AI took it's first turn and I lost. I think we have a problem here.

It looks like a bug that needs fixing. All the campaigns have been played but not all were played with every side in the final build so it must be that something got broken at the last minute. We'll have to get a fix for this. Thanks for letting us know.

Thanks to all for answering.

But in what concerns the Sea Control campaign, there only are 2 sides available (Egyptians & Persians), and both end in the same, premature fashion.

I tried the campaign from the Persian side, a few minutes ago, and was not allowed to proceed beyond turn 1 : got that fatal, very early defeat message with the Persians too.
