800 point Later Mycenaean (Achaean) List

Hello everyone;

I have a friend whom I'm introducing to FoG. He is interested in re-fighting the Trojan Wars so I have drawn up an Achaean list (Later Mycenaean) to go up against his Trojans. I'd appreciate your thoughts on the list as it is so far.

I think that is a solid list.

I would place less faith in the chariots Maybe drop 1.
If need be reduce the LF archers or slingers to 6 if you need the points. There are good reasons as 8 but again...
I think the armoured trrops and Nestors are the strength. Are there a few more bases to take?

The FC I would keep with a 3rd chariot and make him a sub general so I could flank march. Otherwise I would look to where else I could add points.

couple of possibilities

as usual 4 tc or ic + 2 tc would be good though with the set up you have, declare your cinc as a TC (menelaues) then 2 TC subs (Ajax and Achilles) finally one sub as FC (odysseus) (please note spelling will be off, i protest my dyslexia ;-) )

his opens up flank march options

also might be worth taking nestors troops as 3 6's rather than 2 9's since you won;t be suffering much missile power against you, it enables you to divide the hits better as well as a little more manouverablilty

though really you should expect 1 tc and the myrmidons to go off in a sulk half way through the game ;-)
