LOS: Telling which of my units can't be seen

Checked out the line of sight update and I like it but I was wondering is there any way to know exactly which of my units are not visible to the enemy. If not then I wonder if there should be ... I would really like to know if my clever troop hiding works. Any opinions or am I jsut being critical?

If you go and hide in the trees, how do you know someone hasn't seen you?
I can see an argument for being able to see people pointing at you, etc... but then again, they might just be pointing at the woods and saying 'I wonder if anyone's hiding i n there' or 'go and occupy that wood'.
So I say it's okay not to know and would be a bad (as in unrealistic) thing to know.

I agree with Paisley on this - you should only hope you've not been seen yet rather than know.

I agree. I consider LOS something more close to a PC game then to a wargames.
In the TT game you see all the opponent's BG and it's quite likely to what happened in the concrete (excepting some ambush cases)

I bet Pompey's Cavalry at Pharsalus would not agree with you

Oh well and good but if I actually had the line of sight of the units I could look from my position and if I could see the enemy they could naturally see me. This can not be duplicated in a game it becomes a bit of guesswork and with out that line of visibility can you be sure during a game as in real life. I would like that degree of certainty or close to it by giving the player a decent idea of if their units are visible.

Maybe we could borrow something from other games that have an indicator for when a unit is hidden. In total war, for example, hidden units had a little tree symbol. Seeing as we have cohesian, casualty, command, and range markers, why not add a visibility marker, too?

I'm of the opinion that the game shouldn't tell you something which you can't be certain of seeing or knowing.
There is know way a unit, commander or general would know if a 'hidden' unit has been seen. The only way he would be sure is if it had been attacked, or it it attacked.
Given a choice, I wouldn't show the out of command icon to an enemy player... although I accept this is something the enemy commander could work out based on where the commander is.
