I just got back from Cold Wars yesterday after playing in the Armored Knights theme. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for the doubles - I hope everyone had fun at that. But in case anyone is interested, I posted some quick AAR's of my Syrian States games there, and a few photos, at my Ancients gaming blog - Sword and Sandal Gaming. If you want to check it out, the link to get there is:

nice report, good to hear someone elses experiences with this army. I have to admit i always take the bedoiun with a mind to use them against other armies light horse (especially nomad types) though i usually use a crusader ally to get some punch.

Peter nice AAR but gee you had some crap luck. Out of interest can you remember the make up of the later Crusader list.

I may have had some bad luck, but I like to think that the rolls through the course of a game probably even out, and that one more vividly remembers the ones the were most disadvantageous to oneself. Besides, blaming the dice doesn't show the best sportsmanship IMHO (the opponents who defeated me did play well after all), and the best players seem to win regardless of their luck.
As far as the Crusader list makeup goes, well I don't remember exactly, but Danny Weitz did play them - I didn't want to mention names in the blog in case people didn't want to be identified there. I think that there was 4-5 four stand units of superior knights, with two being drilled. There was also some Turcomans and a Ghilman with the ally. There was some medium foot archers and defensive spear, along with a mob unit defending the camp. If Danny reads this, maybe he can be a bit more specific about what he used.
