1.1.1 update won't install

Hi,

The v111 update released today won't install on my machine because it doesn't recognize my serial number. I've tripled checked that it is correct, including copying and pasting the number from the order confirmation screen. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Randy

Interesting. When I installed 1.1.1 it automatically entered my serial number in the field.

Are you using a Matrix version and trying install the Slitherine patch? That seems to cause problems sometimes.

Thanks for the quick replies!

Pip: I'm using the Slitherine version. Do I need to get a new serial number?

Brigz: The serial number field was unfortunately blank for me. I had to enter it manually for patch 1.1 also as I recall, but the number worked fine with 1.1.

A little question, do you have in the game folder a file called FOG.txt??? inside it is the FoG serial (if you buy RoR you have ROR.txt) i have matrixgames version with RoR and installer detected my serial and only can take it forn FOG.txt (dont take the RoR serial).

Wait you find a solution to your problem

It works now, and I do have a fog.txt file w/my serial # in it in the installation folder.

For those who may have the same problem: when I downloaded the update earlier today, it was in a zip file, "FieldofGlory-Update-v111.zip". I downloaded the update again just now, just in case it got garbled somehow the first time, and noticed the download link now is for "field_of_glory_patch_1.1.1.exe", which is slightly larger in size than the file of the same name which was contained in the .zip file I downloaded earlier. Now when I run the update, my serial number is already entered in the field for me and it works fine.

Thanks everyone!

That is very odd! I will check with Iain what might have happened.
