In the preview of RoR is said that there is a Los option that can be used but I'm not able to find where it is.
Does anyone can answer this stupid question!

They put it out several times on the forum - the LoS was not ready in time for release - They will put it out as a free patch in a few weeks to a month from now.

:D

Ouch! will it take so long?? :( I figured it woudl be a week or so...
If the LOS and AI patch is going to take one month i hope Slitherine release an earlier patch solving all the little RoR glitches reported on the forums (DAG names problems, graphic problems with pursues and unit facing...) that probably are already fixed.
Cheers

:D
Is that quoted from a Slitherine source?

If so, then I am a bit annoyed; if not, then please ignore the rest.

LoS is not a 'free patch' but an advertised feature of the RoR expansion.

The release of RoR was delayed originally to include this, together with AI improvements, supposedly within a few days. That delay became a week and RoR was still issued without either.

I have assumed that work on it would be given priority, given that it is a feature that has been paid for by RoR purchasers. It should certainly take precedence over any further expansion packs. LOS was a major reason for me purchasing RoR; and voting to delay the expansion until it was included, on the basis that it would be put on the back shelf if it wasn't.

It is a priority and it is in and we were trying to get it ready to release today but it has not had enough testing yet so we are going to hold it back till next week when we have had time to fully test it as we dont want to risk releasing and finding lots of issues we overlooked.

We have fixed a number of other bugs though and will be releasing those this week. No work on the future army packs is delaying LOS - it is different people who are working on that currently (artists rather than programmers).

So to get LOS, I need to buy RoR?

No, you need to install the forthcoming patch that will include it. It was originally intended to be included in the patch issued with RoR (1.10) but it was delayed from that due to not being completely ready.

Thanks. I'll probably purchase RoR anyway as soon as I can talk myself into it

I'm sure I asked this question before, but I can't remember seeing a reply (maybe my fault  ).

Will LoS give the ability to hide units (e.g. in woods and behind hills) so that the opponent doesn't know they are there, or just mean that they can't hit them with missiles?

If the former, then how close does an enemy unit need to get to spot the hidden units? Will the hidden troops know they have been spotted?

Thanks.

Glad to hear there is going to be a patch soon! :D Hopefully soon enough to play with it this weekend!
Regarding LOS, i woudl also love to hear about whats being implemented.
I hope units will remain hidden behind woods or hills and not only use LOS for shooting. it will add a new strategic element.
In fact it would be very interesting if units would obscure other units in the second line :D
Well, i guess hiding elephants behind LI woudl be over the top, but cavalry and formed infantry could surely obscure whats behind them.
So... how its going to be??
Cheers

If there are going to be hidden units I hope some common sense will be applied - the last thing I need is for a hidden elephant unit to come charging out of a wood hex!
