Schyted chariots rules

Can anyone please clearly explain the new rules affecting schyted chariots?
In a battle with the pontics I stared them disappear when in contact with the enemy without being affected by any disruption or fragmentation.
I just didn't find them anymore at the beginning of the new turn.
It seems quite frustrating, also thinking to their consistent value of 12 points!

They die if they don't destroy enemy in front of them....they crash in...either kill or die themselves

So they cost so much for nearly .. nothing.
The only pros is that they seem not to count 2 point of losses!

They dont count towards your army initial break point or count for break points when lost. Best thing is to send them in with help, or wait till you see some disrupted/fragged target of opportunity, then send them in.
I have read that scythed chariot drivers would get the horses moving, point them at the enemy and then jump off the back end just before contact. they were not actually expected to survive but to cause casualties and disrupt the enemy formations which could then hopefully be taken advantage of by your troops moving up behind. I have had limited success with them so far. Kind of fun but yes their battle field value is somewhat questionable.

The main reason I put scythed chariots in my army is for phsycalogical reasons. They cause disorder when they attack so used at the right moment can be very effective.
Other players are wary of them. They are likely to go uncontrolled when they 1st are in charge reach of enemy so keep them back out of range untill you need them. I have seen them charge through friendly pike formations just to attack a LF unit. Make sure you have a clear movement path for them. They are vulnerable to LF.
If they do not win there combat they disapear.

I thought they always disappeared? I have definitely had a successful scythed chariot charge, and then found the unit missing when it's my turn again.

My opponent's haven't died - am I correct that they should not have a 2nd round of melee against the same unit?

Ive had a Scythed chariot beat a MF unit then go on to attack another unit. Also ive had them stay for a second round of combat when they caused more damage to a unit. I believe they only disapear when they lose a combat or fail to do enough damage.

same ha 1 scythie kill 2 enemies and surviver to game end. It helps if your target is disrupted or better yet fragged. I find they are more effective against cav than foot but that could be lucky rolls on my part

Ohhh... maybe my scythed chariots simply lost one combat roll, but won all the others. That would explain me doing more damage to him and disordering his general's cav, but still having my chariots disappear.

if they are still around your chariots are history, scythed chariots are a do or die weapon. I have also had them go anarchy on me and charge through my cats to get at some lights that buggered off, although in the TT game shock troops dont do uncontrolled charges if they have to burst through friends and their only targets are lights, something the devs should think about putting in the game if they can.
