Problems with Field of Glory v1.1.0 Crashing

Since installing RoR several days ago, FOG has been crashing on my laptop.
Here are my laptop specs: Dell Inspiron 1520
Intel pentium Dual CPU 1.73 GHz, 0.99 GB of Ram
Windows XP

When I try to load a scenario I get a generic Microsoft message that states "Field of Glory has encountered a problem and had to close." I reinstalled the v1.01, v1.02 and v1.03 patches and there was no problem. However when I reinstalled the v1.1.0 patch, the game crashed again. This happens for both multiplayer games and single player games. Occasionally a scenario will load, but about 90% of the time it crashes.

There are issues with some laptops running in low power usage settings. Make sure you are connected to a power cable and running at full speed as the larger maps and more variety of unit art mean the PC is under more strain in the latest version. It is related to onbaord graphics cards - if you have a standalone card this should not be an issue.

Thank you for your quick response on this. It seems that my computer is having the same problems as are discussed in the "Some Scenarios" thread. Hopefully these problems can be fixed in a future patch.

These problems are hardware related and can only be fixed by changing the settings on your graphics card or running with the laptop plugged in, as describe in the workaround. The PC is just not powerful enough unfortunately. It is not a bug that can be fixed.
