Has anyone got a good website for info on their flags etc please ?
I assume that flags for various cities would do for the generals standards ?
Cheers

Difficult to be a purely maritim power if a good chunk of your members are well inland. Halle, Münster, Erfurt, Dortmund were all members of the Hanseatic League. Actually that was part of the problem of the League. The interests of their widely varied members been all to often opposed to each other.

Try this page:
http://www.hanse.org/en/hanse_tourism/staedtefuehrer_en
The various city pages also have their heraldry.

Yes, as ever I'm impressed by the knowledge of the members of this site. I swear if you wanted to know the colour of the ink on the lunch menus used by some ancient army the right answer would be on here.

Welcome.

Note there is a slightly more exhaustive list on the German Wikipedia:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hansestadt
Unlike the other site that one comes in German only though.

It automatically translated it into English for me when I linked to it. Very interesting indeed.
