It means you are unable to connect to the server. Check your connection and try again.

I did this morning and all the games get the same error message and are unrecoverable.

We're looking in to it tomorrow - seems to be effecting a few people but so far we have no idea why as we've never seen it in any of our games.

If you have a MP issue can you confirm is you have Rise of Rome installed. If not do you have the latest patch, version 1.1.0?
Thanks

Any progress? Two of my games were halted 7/3. Especially annoying with one of them being for the League.Three others are working fine.

It looks like the issue is that when uploading there was some connection issue with these particular games and 0 bytes of data were transferred. A bug in the server mistakenly took these games and passed them to the next player. The server should have rejected them and forced them to re-uplaod. We have fixed it so that this issue will not happen in future (when the patch comes out). However unfortunately there is no way to recover the games where this has happened
I understand this is very frustrating for you guys but it was not an issue that ever came up before. I don't know why it has started happening since Rise of Rome released but it is possibly due to the high levels of traffic as RoR has been extremely popular.
We're sorry about this and will get it fixed as soon as possible and we hope it does not spoil your enjoyment of the game too much.

Thanks for the answer. I'll get over it
Good to know so we can start over. Hope you'll get it fixed for the next patch.
