Cavalry Charging Cavalry from Rear

I just charged an undrilled Superior Armoured Cavalry unit (Carthage) in the rear with a Drilled Superior Armoured Cavalry unit (Pyrrhic) and, despite the fact I had positioned 3 archers in from of the enemy unit, it ran away through several zones of control (i.e. the hexes next to the archers). Is this correct behaviour? If it is, it implies that a cavalry unit can never rear shunt any Horse unit unless it is already in combat! :(

I wouldn't mind, but I had the choice of rear shunting the Cavalry or an Elephant (in combat) and only chose the Cavalry because things weren't going well and I needed some good fortune... and now things are going even worse :(

I think the evade logic & moves are something that needs looking at. With all the new cavalry armies in DAG I'm finding it very hard to catch them or when using them people cant catch me.

Evades and routs and such are still unusual at times for sure.

What if, instead of units evading or routing through enemy lines/BGs (past them that is, not actually through them), units that couldn't evade or rout towards their own base line or side edge stood in place and took 25% casualties as if routs caught by enemy?
