Slitherine are pleased to announce the release of Rise of Rome!

Developed by HexWar, Rise of Rome is the first expansion for Field of Glory and adds a host of new features, primarily the Digital Army Generator (DAG). This allows you to design historical armies and then take them in to battle against the AI or online using Slitherine’s revolutionary PBEM server. It truly brings digital wargaming to a new level.

Rise of Rome releases at 7:00 pm GMT and all those who pre-order will soon be receiving their mail to download the game.

For anyone else you can find out more on the Rise of Rome product page along with a selection of screenshot showing the D.A.G. and some of the many armies you can build with it.

You'll be pleased to know HexWar managed to fins Illyrian figures and so the Illyrian army made it in at the last minute!

Thank you

Only Late Mac's are included in the expansion and DAG (perhaps Alex. will be in the Immortal Fire expansion?)

I'm living in congo, where connexion are low spedd. This morning I start to download rie of rome from my office, with my lat top. It took me 4 hours to get 80 % of the file. Then there were a connexion interruption. Connexion is up now, it's neat 7 pm, but it's now impossible tget the file. I have an errorl:

Sorry,

Too many download attempts: 40. You were allowed to download only 10 times.

Because the download claim for a password, that was not asked for in the email.

Ok, the game is good, but the site is not easy for me.

What can I do ?

Send your order details to info@slitherine.co.uk and we'll sort it out. Make sure you use a download manager with only one connection so it can resume but not use up your download limits.

You'd best to ask at the Matrix site for that info. I think they plan to release at the end of this week with the first patch pre-applied.

Line of Sight

The product info at http://www.slitherine.com/games/riseofrome_pc mentions "A new Line of Sight option. Games can be played with or without LOS. Hide battlegroups in terrain, behind hills or other troops." Where is this option?

I believe it (LOS) is to follow in a patch soon.

Just a question on the next patch.

Will it contain the ability to hide troops behind hills, in ditches, gullies, trees etc?

Also, if troops are hidden in trees, how close would an enemy unit need to get to them to see them?

Finally, would you know when a unit has seen your troops?

Will there be a manual (even pdf version) now that Rise of Rome is released? Any plans, as well, for a manual for the Digital Army Generator?
