Today
I've paid 42 euros
I've downloaded the game in more than two hours
And it doesn't run!
After launching it I see the intro movie and then I see :
Applicazione terminata in modo irreversibile
*** Unhandled exception! ExpCode 0xC000001D Expflags: 0 Exp Address 0x0047E873 Please Report!
I'm very disappointed.
I will give you the characteristics of my PC as soon as possible

Sorry you are having problems. Have you got the latest drivers for your graphics card and latest version of DirectX 9.0c installed?
Your PC specs and operating system would also be useful.

Looking forward to getting your system specifications - it is very important to us being able to help get you running. Also, please cut and paste in the last 20 or so lines of the error.log file found in your My Documents\GBM folder.
Cheers
Pip

Can you please try the following:
+ uncheck the following boxes on the launcher to disable:
- Use shaders
- Bloom effect
- Enable Shadows
- Use reflections
+ set the Texture and Shadow quality to low (this should happen automatically, but just being safe in case the drivers are reporting incorrectly).
The 9600 is pretty old video card, so my guess is that is the issue. Hopefully turning down the settings will get it running.

It still don't run, showing the same message
the video card is old, but when I updated the video drivers (I lost the update when I lost all my data on my PC
on January because of a Virus) I was able to run a game like Tom Clancy Hawx with the maximum
video quality including playing internet games...now ATI has changed the way in which I can get the drivers...I don't understand what I've to do.... I have to use a legacy support program (how?)

So, to make sure I understand correctly, you've not been able to get those drivers again after your crash?
If you can remember the version you had, you might be able to find a mirror download for them using google?
I'll take a look at the ATI site to see if I can help.

When the installation occurs after short time the following error message: C: \ Program Files \ Slitherine \ HISTORY Great Battles Medieval \ Data \ Battlefield \ Maps Textures \ dry grass green under tree.dds
A Dekoprimierungsfehler occurred (# 1024).
My system:
Intel Core 2 Quad 9650, Asus P5N-D, 4GB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260, Win XP Pro SP 3
A fast help I would be very grateful and thank you in advance ever.

Is this error during the installation process? It would seem to suggest that the download is corrupted in some way, so I would suggest redownloading it.

Yes, during the installation. After the 3-4 minutes. The installation is not a download, but from a CD.

Is there any chance you can try the install on a different PC or DVD drive? I would also check the disk to see whether it has any damage to it. It does sound like it cannot fetch the data for that file, which makes me think it is damaged media, or a malfunctioning drive.
Cheers
