Is it just me, or is there a glaring omision in the Blood & Gold Book, namely Huaxtecs? There is an illustration of Aztecs ambushing them in the book, they were noted enemies of the Aztecs, you can buy figures for them in 28mm and probably soon from Eureka, they have a section in the Foundry book, but no list in any FOG book suits them. I had rather expected to see them appear in Lost Scrolls, but.....

I see the Huastecs covered by the Mayan list, as there language - Wastek - is Mayan in origin. They were defeated in 1450 by the Aztecs. As the Mayan list is until 1450, this would fit perfectly, imho.

There are many omissions of central american states in the book. The Huaxtecs are one such. They could be represented as one of the central american allies for the Aztecs (post Aztec conquest of them). We could find little evidence that their military system differed from that of the Aztecs, so if you want to represent them on the tabl;e perhaps the Aztec list would be best.

While they are thought to have had Mayan roots, they are unlikly to have used the post classical Mayan weapons system (though if you think they did I guess you could use post classical Mayan)

Whilst the Huaxtecs seem to have lost some of their lands to the Aztecs, they remained a state in being pre-conquest, with a greater ratio of closer order archers than the Aztecs and without the spear-bow combination of the Maya. Superior drilled Impact foot would seem correct for the close combat warriors with not all units getting javelins , and average protected archers who may or may not be drilled. As they seem to have absorbed/assimilated Chichimec tribes into their state both central american and chichimec allies would seem reasonable.

You might want to put together a trial Huaxtec list and post it in the player designed list forum. That would seem where this discussion really belongs at this point.
