Another 10mm extravaganza. The Roman cavalry again turn in a splendid performance, and vineyards again have a huge effect on the outcome.

Apologies if any glaring mistakes in applying the rules - we're getting better though!

All here at http://philbancients.blogspot.com/2010/ ... rt-iv.html.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the AAR broeders, good reading.

Just a point, I see you had a paragraph that said this:

"Russ and I both put commanders in the front rank to eke out any advantage we could and mine certainly spent a lot of time shuttling between the two BG's to provide advantage where it would be most felt."

Does this mean you moved a commander that was in the front rank of 1 BG to another BG? If so then once a commander is committed to front rank combat he cannot move until that BG is broken, has broken it's opponent, or broken off in the case of mounted.

Apolgies if I read it wrong.

Good point Rob - they were mounted fighting mounted (which shouldn't break off unless they're fighting foot) so we played that wrong. I'll bear it in mind when Russ puts Hannibal in the front rank next time - it really should be a 'last resort' element.
