While playing a single-player game vs the AI, I somehow enabled a console (see screenshot). My question now is how to enable/disable it, because I cannot replicate it.

Select the key to the left of 1 on the keyboard then type

summary 0

This covered in the game help menu under keyboard short cuts.

The keyboard shortcut is "u" to show the console window, "t" to hide it.
