I own a laser engraver that I use for the model airplane business I run. I was tired of using colored pipe cleaners to mark the status of units, so I made these up. I'm thinking I'll probably order up some yellow acrylic for the fragmented markers. Besides these three, what else do I need?

Some people like to mark the units they have declared to be charging. In general I don't think they are needed, but sometimes it can be useful. I find useful to have a square (one base width) with the size of the ZoI and ZoC, both for cavalry and infantry. It clarifies some troubles that cannot be visualized by just putting the meter.

Are you planning to sell your markers on Ebay?

A good idea I have seen is to use different shapes as well as different text for each type of marker.

I really like these. I think you have all that is really required. Different colours or shapes is very important - I have some from VVV and while nice it is impossible to distinguish the 3 states from more than 18" away.

If you were able to have them two sided and add the word 'this' to the text on one side and 'prior' it would help me stop cheating by trying to bolster troops that dropped down the ladder this bound. (Yes I know I should remember but when you have 9 BG FRAG'd and 8 BG DIS'd it becomes a triffle difficult to remember which was inflicted this turn.)

This turn/prior turn is a good idea.

I'm going to try to get yellow acrylic to make the fragmented ones so they'll all be different colors. Once I get it all worked out I could be convinced to sell these. Let me order up some more acrylic....

my color code is

green : disrupted
yellow: fragmented
red: broken ( too many times used
blue : commander in front contact
little arrows for the direction of charging groups

could use orange for disordered and purple for severely disordered in the future when I'll find

I use 2 markers up to the end of the current turn, it help to know who can be boltered or not ;
at the end of the joint phase I let only one marker for the next turn ;

If you can mark both sides, you should print "No Bolster" on the backs of the cohesion markers. Players can then place that side up when the unit drops to remind them who cannot test in the JAP that turn.

Not sure what they've got Allan - but considering yours are home-made and these were produced 'professionally' then I think you win the round. I think I commented as such on your blog but if you missed it, well done again.

And better than glass beads etc.

Must look into the ZoI etc markers and think about the 'can't be bolstered this turn' markers...
