Each base of each BG is treated according to the its own circumstances. So, a if a base of a foot BG is partially in terrain that causes it disorder. it is treated as disordered, even if its front edge is outside the terrain. (P26 covers this).

If a base of a mounted BG is wholly in Open Terrain and is fighting this foot base, it does not suffer disorder. It would be entitled to any Impact POA that applied in Open Terrain and the foot would suffer any cohesion test modifier that applied for losing to mounted in the open. (P135 explains this).

It is all too easy to confuse things between rule sets. I have trouble remembering the target priorities in FOG compared to DBM and DBR.

There is no modifier for losing to mounted in the open.
The cohesion test modifier is for MF in open losing to mounted etc.....the MF are standing in terrain......so this modifier does NOT apply. How about:-

(MF in open) losing to mounted.
or how about....
(MF in open) losing to (HF or Mounted).

Here is one for you, reverse the location of the BGs......now does the MF have a cohesion test modifier?

The cohesion check modifier is for MF losing to mounted in the open. The modifier is caused by the mounted in the open. Read the definition on page 135.
