a cheesy point maybe but had a lot of consequences yesterday. When a long Bg in colomn is kinked due to a move with a wheel, how do we deal with the problem of being rear supported and supporting? Becoz somes bases of the same Bg faces many directions!
thx for help and sorry if it has already been posted

The way I understand it is the rear of the front base is used to determine rear for fleeing and rear support.

That's the way I've always played it.

looks logical too but rule says that supported groups must be partly in front of a straight line extending the front of supporting bases. Not the front of the first rank bases of the supporting BG. So my opponent claimed rear support from bases that where at the end of a kinked column. Argggg i was right! Damned!

If the kinked column is giving the rear support then any bases that meet the criteria you quoted from the rules will count for support.
It wasn't clear from your post whether the kinked column was being supported or giving support.

the situation was that the kinked BG was giving rear support. . Then my contradictor was right, he had its rear support and we played it right. Thx lawrence. But i'd be intersted too for the opposite situation where it receives rear support.
