Favourite Style/Size of Battle???

It seems many of the scenarios being designed are huge things. I thought I'd see what souls out there enjoy most.

The reason for the 4th choice: Am thinking of a series of battles. First one, very small, map 10 x 10, only a half dozen units each side, not necessarily even, mostly cav and LH. You keep track of your BGs broken/kills as you progress through the campaign. (Much like the tournament ongoing)

I'll let you know when the first one comes together. Tentatively: Battles In the Spanish Hills (Carthaginians vs Romans)

I would not mind seeing some smaller scenarios, about 15 - 30 bg's

Voted for mid-size, with 20-30 units per side. It allows for quick games (~20 turns) and still feels like a battle.

However, very small scenarios can also be very interesting. I once played the germanic/gaul/celtic infantry vs roman cavalry scenario in multiplayer and every time one of my few infantry units routed I yelled at them "no, no, no! come back and fight!!!!!!!!!!!!" (and apparently it worked, because I won :D)

I like battles between 20 to 40 units in size. The AI seems to do better and I don't get fatigued moving around a hundred units every turn! Ha!

For scenario designing I like the mid-sized ones because I playtest them both hotseat and against the AI. I just do not have the time to play-test huge scenarios.

Then again, yesterday I tried out a couple big battles posted by the users and they were lots of fun. When you win you feel great, but losing one of these immense battles can make a grown man sniffle a little.

I prefer huge battles if designed well. I want to have my front line inf BG's benefit from rear arc support. My flanks to fight almost a separate mini battle before sweeping around to hit my foe's hard pressed inf line( or to suffer my opponent do the same to me).

The smaller scenarios don't give me this but are still fun.
