** Latest update 29/01/10 **
There will be another one day 3 game comp at the UK Games Expo in Birmingham
The format will be much the same as last year 650 points, 5 by 3 tables, 2 1/2 hours.
Registration will be 9:30 till 10:00 (the doors open to the public at 9:30)
Game 1 - 10:00-12:30
Game 2 - 13:30-16:00
Game 3 - 16:15-18:45
Presentations - 18:45-19:00
Game duration will be 2 hours and 20 minutes plus 1-10 minutes random.
Play will stop at the end of the current phase.
I have argued our case for more tables and I think I have managed to prise them up to enough space for 32 players. Last year we had 28 and a waiting list.
At present the bookings system is not live. As soon as it is I will update this announcement.

Is this the one in Birmingham?

Yes.
I had Birmingham in the title then it got too long so I edited it out and didn't put it in the body of the message.

No problem for me with a 7pm finish - I'd rather keep the existing format than change it as well.

650 points is about right droping to 600 I feel is 50 points too much.

I'm happy to finish at 7pm. I like the format as it is and had a good time last year

If I go I would not mind 7:00 p.m. either
(Rob, now you know at least three people who might be there, are you going to ask for potential runners and riders

Please excuse my newbie giddiness Roger.
Hopefully when I have reached your ripe years of gaming I will have calmed down a little.

The timings seem OK for me, the later start means not having to get up so early! I think 3 games at 650 is a good variation from the norm, but agree 600 would be a drop too far.

Hammy,
I am certain the players from Oxford will be coming if not more than last year.
Is the late finish to ensure Phil is available to collect his prize!!!

Unsure at the moment Dave as this time there may be guys from Halifax coming and they may decide to drive up on the day.

Five tickets gone in the first two hours. This is almost like Glastonbury
OK it isn't but if you want a place I suggest you book sooner rather than expect there to be one left in six weeks time.

Ok
I've got my ticket, haven't actualy played a game since last year though. Is anyone going to be going from Sheffield or there about and coming back, who I could get from, go halves on petrol. Though I have improved my army transport logistics so getting back to the train should be easier this time.
