Play up Pompey

Following on from their spectacular success against the army of Brucius Uglymax on Saturday, the army of Pompey the Great took on Julius Ceasear in a no-holds barred 1200 pts aside with free camp, IC general and 4TC sub-generals thrown in for good measure this Sunday. Bill & Mark taking on Josh & myself in a doubles game to teach some rules and have fun. But mainly avoid honey-do lists.

Highlights of the game saw newcomer Josh manage to delay Cesear's right flank hook for long enough with a couple of units of LH Jav & a bg of LS Cv, whilst both sets of legionaries tangled in the middle.

Pompey's boys dominated as they destroyed 5 bg of Romans without losing a man themselves as Cesear's middle evaporated. Skillfully led by the great man himself. ( ie we rolled some superb dice ! )

All in all 25 bgs a-side on a 10 x 5 table was a lot of fun, and many thanks to the others for making it so.

Next time we intend doing a Principate Roman civil war with 1400 pts and 5 generals aside. This time turning up with 700 points each, and then working out sides with high-low dice rolling to determine partners.

However, the chances of Portsmouth beating anybody in the Premier League currently stand somewhere between Slim and Non-Existent.

And Slim is out of town....

We will have the last laugh.... When we go bankrupt and they expunge our record from the league, the likes of Arsenal & co will lose 6 points, Liverpool will sail up the table as we managed to beat them this season.

Doom & gloom, 2 for the price of 1 !

Newcastle ranked amongst the top 20 wealthiest clubs in the world for last season. Not bad for a relegated team.

Please do. As a Spurs fan I have to say the better side won. A surprise I must say.
