Hello!

Does anybody have the full results from the ITC in Lisbon 2009?
I want to have them added to the new offical ranking on the webpage and I cannot find the results in the web.

Who can help me?

I'll ask Mike if he kept them.

Is that allowed as part of the rankings since it is not an open competition?

Inquiring minds need to know.

The past two US Team competitons have been included treating each time period as a separate tournament.

Yes, but everybody is allowed to enter that, unlike the ITC, which is a closed comp.

Well, I do not understand the politics behind.
Each tournament can be entered in the ranking.
is there a special reason why the ITC is not?
From the ranking side, this would be fine

A lot of tounaments are in effect closed to a lot of people. I'm not going to enter any games in the antipodes for the forseeable future. And as the rankings uses an algorhythm based on a 70's rock band, where it matters who you play, it will make no difference to the ranking scores of those that did not attend.

And I really like this band (does this mean I'm getting old?)

Open or invitational competiton status is irrelevant for a game by game ranking system. What matters is who played who and what the result is, not how ell a given player did relative to the field.

For the UK rankings where relative placing matters (i.e. a tournament win is worth more than fourth place) then invitational events are not included.

Events like the ITC are very important if the world rankings are to have any validity.
