... and not to have to change these parameters for each neaw created unit in the editor

You have just to open the Data/default-units file (xml file) with bloc notes (use "open with" command) and to do modifications as you want (like in editor, but here for all default units). After that, you have just to "register" ("not register on", just "register") and the new xml file is ready (You have just to copy it in the data directorie, after saving your original default-units xml file to be in order to restablish it for normal game. Using this method, you can modify some parameters of default units (but you can not do any modification you would not be able to do in the editor itself). There are some missing parameters in the xml file, I did not found them and they have to be modified in the editor for each unit (i.e : drilled, not drilled).
You have to be prudent : in each "block text" of unit, you may change text in the " " as you want with respect of the original form (but you can not give parameters you could not choice in the editor itself.

PS : if you want to use more easy way to edit xml file :
you can download "Bonfirestudio" as free here (to modify xml files is more simple, easy and fast with this tool than using bloc notes) :

Founded other way to modify names of weapons in the game, for those who want special weapons names in their battles :

The modifications have effect for the 2 sides in the same time and is a little complexe.

i.e : I renamed Swordmen in "Fusils" (Rifles in french) for my Napoleonic mod.
