Hello,
when I try to start "Military History Commander - Europe at War" (Slitherine version - latest patch applied), the game does not start. The only error message is:
KERNEL MEMORY CHECKING IS **OFF**
My specs:
Intel i750 CPU
EVGA Geforce 260 GTX
4 GB RAM
Windows 7 (32 bit)
I ran the game as admin. Could you please help? Thanks.
Frank

I've mailed Johan from Firepower and asked him to take a look at this bug and see if he can suggest something.

Has the game worked for you before or was this the first time you tried to run the game?
You bought the Military History channel version or did you update from a previous CEAW?

This was the first time I tried to run the game. I own the "Military History channel" version.
Thanks in advance.

Likely you have some other software that prevents Java from running, Virus checkers are usual problems, have you tried disabling and closing down all other known applications that you are running?

Today, I updated my Win 7 with Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.18; it did not help. Note that I do not have a folder called ""*:\My Documents\CEaW\". Furthermore, I have 4 GB of RAM. Perhaps this could cause the problem.
Any ideas?

Updating the Java version wont help you since the game uses the Java that comes with the game (in jre folder). In cases where something prevent the game from starting up third part security software is very often the fault. The process list does not say anything to me but are you sure you do not have any security software installed and active on this machine?
