Short timers can be a problem

I must admit, Legion Arena is indeed an awesome game. I have played much of the original Legion Arena and the only thing I really donot like is, the use of timers and keeping losses to a minimum. The latter isn't that bad since I can do this with no problem, usually and the first isn't something one can't live with unless it requires you to wipe out a force within a given length of time, and the force is spread onto two different sectors of ground divided by a river. This makes it almost impossible to elimate all of the foe within a given length of time, say 3minutes. There is one such bugaboo in the Syrian campaign, where the hero is ambushed by 10,000 enemy and the game must be won in 150 with a minimum of losses. I've tried three times, unsuccessfully to win this campaign, not because I didn't beat the other side but, because the time limit expires before all of the enemy forces retreat. In one try the last of the enemy were retreating and I had stayed well within the limit of losses but, I was still listed as loosing, even though the enemy retreated 5 seconds before time expired. I've tried several methods of acquiring victory arranging from a wedge to just plain spread out forces. These seem to have little trouble with the advisary but, there is always that one little group or two which needs help and you cannot get your forces to them in time to win. They usually can do this on their own but not within the 150 seconds or whatever that is. It's too bad this game doesn't have onegers and catapults which use Greek Fire, then this might be more easily accomplised. I don't mind losing and probably will win eventually but, I abhore the thought of loosing to an enemy who has lost two to three times more men than myself and still losing.
