Hi,
In between doing chores for the Xmas thing that's coming up soon
, I've been trying to play FoG after buying it this morning. I am so glad I got the game, it's a lot of fun.
For someone like me who plays almost exclusively WWII titles, this is quite an adventurous departure and I am definitely way outside of my knowledge base and comfort zone. Although I'm interested in the history, I am completely out of my depth playing ancients. However, this is the game I've wanted someone to release for quite a long time, to be the introduction to the period.
I'm really impressed by how polished the game is, from the very nicely designed gui to the unit icons themselves and superb multiplayer frontend. The html manual is also brilliant. It's so much easier to be able to click indexed hyperlinks than having to zip back and forth through a pdf trying to link different bits of info together. I much prefer this style of documentation.
All in all, I think this game is money very well spent. I'm not brave enough to try multiplayer yet, but am looking forward to it.
