The runners and riders for the inaugural Field of Glory Digital Tournament have been announced! We were heavily over subscribed so if you missed out this time we're sorry but we need to keep numbers manageable for this first tournament.

The players and groupings can be found here : http://www.slitherine.com/tournaments/f ... ment1_draw

The Round 1 Draw can be found here : http://www.slitherine.com/tournaments/f ... og1_round1

The Competition rules can be found here : http://www.slitherine.com/tournaments/f ... t_xmas2009

The first round starts on the 18th December.

Good luck to all involved!

Can you confirm if the draw was based on the first 16 to apply as listed in the competition rules?

Cheers

Yes, why? :)

Sorry Iain, thought I'd got my mail in quickly when the thread first went up and wondered if the draw had been made out of a hat after people requested it.

I think limiting the draw to 16 people is going to mean a rare chance of participating in future depending on spotting a thread and getting a mail in on time.

Good luck to all the players in the first competition.

It was a bit of a feeding frenzy!

We had a magazine reviewer ask to be let in at the last minute but we didnt want to bump one of the early applicants.

1. the matrix patch is not yet out
2. the round is due to start tomorrow
3. knowing matrix, the new patch will be some days off
4. my opponent may well be using the new slitherine 1.02 patch
5. reading the patch fixes, i may be at a disadvantage playinging with the 1.01 version?

Or can I patch part way through a started pbem?

Hi you will need to update to patch 1.02 before u can log into multiplayer again.
The tournament starts tomorrow but u have the christmas period to complete the games. :)

Ahhh I see - I'll need to chase Matrix. You wont be able to play any multiplayer until you have 1.02. I have not been able to get hold of them at the moment and I fear they may have broken for Christmas which would be bad news :(

I have heard from others that the Slitherine patch works on the Matrix version so you could try that. Make sure you keep a backup of the original Matrix installer so you can revert if necessary. You could try that for now.

The new patch.

Patched to Slitherine 1.02 last night and all seems well, thanks. Impressive list of fixes and additions, please keep up the great work!

To my opponent - will get cracking over the weekend once I've had a closer look at the changes. Best of luck to you!

cheers Chris

I have issued my challenges, but they haven't been accepted yet (it's still early), but I wondering how I can confirm that they went out?

Deeter don't forget some of us who are in the tournament are on the other side of the Atlantic so you have to allow for time zones, patience will be needed for international tournaments like this.

the first round is by time zone. Besides, I thought you and I are both in North America. :D

One thing to bear in mind is that all open challenges are listed on the accept challenges page. Just because they are marked with a padlock does not mean they are for you. Challenges do not have a specific opponent - you tell your opponent the password and this is how they access it, there is no limit to who can see the challenges.

You can tell if you challenge is ctive by viewing your open challengs on your issue challenge page.

If you are trying to play a game and you cannot get in check you have typed the password correctly and if this does nto work tell your opponent that you are unable to access the game and tell them the password you are using. They wil be able to clarify it. They can remove and reissue the challenge if they want to make sure they typed the password correctly.
