Reducing light troops movements from 4 to 3

First said that the game is really superb and finely balanced in all his aspects, I just wanted to ask if anyone else think that maybe the movement range of light infantry is a bit excessive equalling them to cavalry.
Wouldn't it be better to slow them down to a more feasible 3 points? In my opinion in it would feel more historical.

No I would disagree. In the table top version light troops run about as fast as cav but not as fast as light horse, makes lights the most useful of any ancient game system I have ever played. Lights are a pain and so they should be, come in and harrass and then run away laughing over their shoulder. You just need to develop a strategy for catching the little buggers and wiping that smirk off their dirty little faces.

Though agreeing about the fact that light infantry should maintain their capability of harassing the enemies as before, it seems to me that this feature wouldn't be discarded also if we would reduce a bit their movement.
In fact this ability rest not just in their movement range but in their possibility of evading the enemy units.
Reducing the movement from 4 to 3 would only render their behaviour on the field a little more historical, while preserving their harassing key role anyway.

Sorry Lysimachos, I have to agree with deadtorius. IMHO, things are just fine the way they are.

I was able to use light infantry to win Carhae (sp?) recently.....they where able to charge and pin the light horse from a distance allowing the Roman Cav to also move up and kill them......in the table top game you can't really do this. Not sure if I could do it again as my opponent smarted up by the end of the game, but the early casaulties from this tactic where enough to swing this the roman way. Reducing their movement some would help with this...The LH must be in Bow Range to be effective regardless.

In the table top game you have the choice of running away or standing, something that was requested in beta for the PC game but was never added. sometimes you want your lights to try and stand since it ties up the enemy, but it is a rare occurrence.
In my last TT game I lucked out in catching a unit of LH archers in the rear as they had moved right up to my cav and then rolled a 1 for evade and I rolled 6, they routed the next turn with no generals in sight
