AAR - The Elephant Victory 273 BC

Here is one of my scenarios that I submitted to Keith. The Battle is knows as the Elephant Victory and took place in 273 BC. It was a battle between a Galatian Army and the Early Seleucids. The Galatians began the battle by opening their ranks of heavy infantry to let the chariots and cavarly through. However, Antioshios had taken the advise of a tactician, Theodotes of Rhodes, and managed to conceal elephants behind his battle line. The Galatian horses were bearing down on the Seleucid ranks when the elephants suddenly moved forward. The elephants engaged the charging Galatians stopping the assault. The terrorized Galatian Horses routed back through the Galatian battle lines breaking up the heavy infantry formations. The elephants led the charge into the disorganized Galatians and chased the army from the battlefield. This battle is high complexity with 102 battlegroups with 20 turns available. It is on a 30 deep and 40 wide playing area. The Galatians have 21,360 men (with 50 break points) and the Early Seleucids have 15,456 men (with 52 break points). The Galatians army totals up to 620pts and the Early Seleucids army totals up to 611pts with only a 9 point difference between the two.

I play with a 30 by 40 playing area because it is the closest surface area in the game that coorisponds to a gaming table (gives me more of that table top game feal), and about twice as many units as what is normally in the PC game, but puts it about right for the table top game (the starter armies range from 40 to 80 stand each). Again, this give me that table top feel. I do not have a place to post the files, but if you want it just send me a private message with your email address. Here is a battle report for this scenario so that you can get a better idea of it. Thanks
