How far is Griffin from Atlanta.
There are several Players in Atlanta and Birmingham AL

As a non resident of the area I would suggest you try NATO -
http://www.tabletop-wargames.org/ as I believe they moved from DBx to FoG as their rules set of choice for Ancient games. They are in the north of the area so not sure how far they are away from you.
I have not been down there in quite a few years but they were a friendly bunch.
