Hi i was wondering if at some later stage it might be possible to add the ability to move multiple units at the same time.
This would help speed up larger games.
Thank you. 8)

We've been looking at this but there are significant UI issues. It is something we would like to address but not going to happen in the near future, if we do come up with a good way to do it.

Also look at the logic of group moves. The mission is to keep the game interface simple and to as few clicks as possible to perform an action ... in effect to allow you to get one with the strategy and tactics part of the game.

Group moves sound ideal but consider the effort of selecting a group and then moving a group compared to the current very clean system. You have the hassle or adding or removing battlegroup from the group. Then there is the problem that group moves are at the speed of the slowest unit. So you may well miss charge opportunities and other nice things that would have been obvious when they are highlighted as you move battlegroups currently.

So struggling to believe its worth all the development effort, coding, UI, testing for something that may well not be used very often.

I would assume that you wouldn't be able to do a group move into combat at any rate. Allowing that would completely change the feel of the game from it's current sequential resolution.

As a plus, it might well provide a way to support the double battleline move for troops with a general that are not too close to the enmy that the table top rules allow.

Moreover, the units wouldn't disperse too much on the field and the battle would then feel more "classical", given the fact that ancient encounters basically remained a clash of the opponents lines and not a combat between single dspersed units.

I made this suggestion for playing on larger maps and just for non-combat movements. :)
