If we had an 11-base BG of skirmished javelins, could you please explain how the number of ranged attack dice are calculated, as well as ranged attack dice when the BG is Disrupted and Fragmented?

First I take it you started with 12 Bases and lost one.

For ranged i take it the number of dice in combat.

2 per base in the impact pase and then 1 per base in melee with the following reductions. 1 per 3 dice when disrupted and 1 per 2 dice when fragged

That is actually not right!

There is a subtle difference between Combat and Ranged Shooting.

Basically, in combat you get one dice per base and then remove dice. So an 11 Base BG that is disrupted would get 11 dice and then lose one per three eight dice. If it was fragged it would get six dice.

Shooting however, you get one dice per two bases firing - so in this case the BG will only get five dice if steady, four dice if disrupted and three dice if fragmented.

Most army lists have the battle groups listed in even numbers so an 11 base battle group seems kind of odd as it should have been 10 or 12, but then I am not familiar with any of the more recent books of army lists.
Can't recall ever coming across a 12 base battle group of lights, mostly they seem to range in the 6-8 base range. Perhaps in swifter than eagles there are larger battle groups of lights.

You have been told the right answer, five, but let me tell you a little trick of how I calculated it (somehow homemade) at the beginning. I get a bunch of dice in my hands and I place one die on the table after I count. So I count two, and I place one, I count four and I place the second die, etc. In this case, when you have already counted five you aonly reach one again, so no more dice are added. After a few times you would have got it and it will come very quickly and easily.

For disruption and other unrecommendable situations, place all the dice your troops should be casting if they had no disruption. Then, if you lose one per three, make groups of three and get one of every bunch. In your example, let's say a BG of 11 Gallic warriors, you have 3+3+3+2. You will have to get away three dice if disrupted, one per each bunch of three. If they were skirmishers, first calculate the number of dice they would have, 5, and then substract because of the disruption: 3+2, so you get one dice away for a total of four as you have already been told.

I hope it helps!

Yup i thought he ment impact  as we know its 1 per 2 for shooting then whatever for disrupted/disordered fragged/severe disordered.

No

Nope, 6-8 stands are the most I've ever seen for a light foot BG. We've had some question as to how to add or subtract dice in some cases, so using a fictitious 11-stand BG was the easiest way to get it resolved.

Thanks all for your responses!
