Hi
Is there any project to release more armies in the future? Like Persians (Alexander Campaigns) or even move to other periods, like medieval?

New Armies

When new armies are released - I would like the rest of the ones in the Rise of Rome army book, and then the Immortal Fire Book. Thanks

Heh, well I want 'em all! 8)

Don't really care what order you put them out really, but I agree that Rise of Rome would make a good finish to what's in the base game. How are you planning on doing these btw, will it be as an expansion pack, or each as a stand alone product?

If we have to pay for the upgrades , they were better be very cheap!
Otherwise i'd think twice about getting them.
When i bought the pc game i was expecting much more armies etc.
So i don't think i'd be to happy paying for what should have been in there in the first place. :)

The army packs will be expansion packs not stand alones games. The model is based on the tabletop version - there are only 2 armies in the basic rules so we actually give a lot more than that. We feel the basic game and the army packs offer great value as they do not just add armies they add lots of new features but that's something you'll have to decide for yourselves!

My vote go to the Persian wars from Xenophon 10.000 to early Macedonians. :D

Glad to hear that you plan on releasing armies as expansions rather than a stand alone deal. I can see how some folks might want more armies in the initial release, especially if a favorite of theirs is not present. For me, this isn't the case, as I'm having a great deal of fun with just the armies in the base game so far. There are a lot of match ups I can play with here. But then, I do enjoy battling with Romans. In truth, I'm an easy sell to begin with since I really do love ancient warfare in miniatures or otherwise; which might explain why I also have Slitherine's Troy, Spartan, Chariots, and the Legion games too. :)

Anyway, thanks for the reply Iain, and thanks as well to you and the others involved in crafting such an enjoyable game! :D

Glad to hear you're finishing up the Roman pack; I do hope you'll consider Immortal Fire next. The ancient world just doesn't feel right without the Hellenes. :'(

If I was Master of the Universe I would command Slitherine to jump right ahead to the late Medieval/Ren period, and maybe then to late Roman...

I like the idea of jumping to the Medieval period, how about some Poles and Tectonics?

Well, if the Persians are showing up, don't we want Xerxes invasion of Hellas? That's right, gotta get some 5th century Hellenes! :D
