The Default Retreat is '0'...

What does this mean?

The units in the scenario I created are routing off the field in the wrong direction. How do I fix it?

Is there help for scenario design?

Thanks

I think it is the retreat direction so change it to 1 to have the rout the other way.

I thought so too and tried it, to no avail. :( ...though that would make sense and make things more flexible.

Seems liek the retreat direction is currently tied to the 'side': 1 or 2.

We need to add this to the scenario designer but ....

Side 1 should be set up at the bottom of the screen and will move first and retreat in that direction.

Side 2 should be set up at the top. So it seems you set up the other way around.

There are flags to reset this in the scenario XML files but that is getting all techie!

The simple solution for now is to check the Side ID in the unit data. Any easy way to spot errors is to load the game with free deployment and on clicking a unit its deployment zone will be on the other side of the battlefield.

You can send me any created battles to keith@hexwar.com and I'll reset the data and send it back to you but please put PLEASE FIX SIDES in the email title.

We are not planning to change the user options in the next update but we do intend to make the instructions and limitations clearer.
