hm...sounds interesting but what's a general without troops ? Do I have to buy an all-round starter kit with, say: 3 roman footsoldiers, 2 Parthian horse archers, a chariot and (you never know) a starship trooper...??!
Or do the clubs have armies of volunteers readily available for slaughter caused by tactical faliures of me, the rookie general ???

I'm sure that when the rules appear there will be players at clubs with armies they can lend you to try things out.
