how many bolt shooters shoul I use per base?

Depends on houw many you can fit on, most pics and my opponent who tried it used one model per base.
I have considered using them before but after seeing my opponent use his in 3 seperate games with little or no opportunity to actually shoot them I have dropped the idea of purchasing or using them in an army.
Perhaps you will have better luck.

I would use one per base and make a little diorama, with some soldiers picking the rocks and some other firing and commanding. You will spend less and the final look will be better.
