A patch isn't imminent. We are keeping track of interesting suggestions and we'll try and put them all together into a patch once we get a critical mass.
If you have any suggestions then we're always listening

Hi Pip,
Although, this is a great tactics game there is no "feel" of a RPG game in it.
It does not matter if you win or lose a battle. You fight the same battle again with a full army.
There is not retreat function to "save" your army. Just fight to the end and get a new army.
This game needs a real campaign. One where ever battle counts...where you try to keep your units alive.
This game is fun for about 3 days then you relize it just doesn't matter....

for that to work, it would have to be made so there cannot be limit to how many units you can take into battle. otherwise it would be impossible to keep a standing army all the time. you will get decimated always.

The problem with having armies with carried over damage is that it makes it pretty easy to get halfway through a campaign and find out you are poorly equiped or wrongly skilled, and not really have any simple way to recover from it.
Having said that, I'm going to add in the ability to play battles without healing after them - so people will be able to create campaigns which work in much this way. Perhaps we could even make Insane difficulty impose that for all battles.

Well if you could pay for them to be refilled? (Perhaps at the loss of some experience?)
And just add one sanbox option to the campaign wich is always available and where you can train your army if needed. People then can choose wether or not to use it and thus create their own difficulty. And should you get stuck, then you would just have to fight that battle a few times to gain money/experience. You could even consider having three of these battles at different sizes. THe largest one would get you more casualties (thus cost more mony to refill) but also gives the mostr xp and money.
Just a thought

Heh - we of course would allow you to heal your squads with money. Otherwise I think you have a very hard time finishing even short scenarios
I am adding in manual healing as an option as we speak. We'll test it out and if it hangs together we will include it in an update.
