Hi. I am not sure about DFW area. It was very active years ago with WRG, then collapsed for a long time. WH Ancients was popular with some a couple of years ago, but I have no idea what is going on there presently.

Some years ago there was a VERY active ancients group in Abilene, and I see from tournament results that at least a couple of the members are still active and very successful with FoG. Unfortunatley I do not have any current contact information.

You might want to contact Great Hall Games in Austin:

Rob Smith is owner, and is an avid gamer. Since GHG supplies gamers he might be able to help you with some contacts, but I am not sure of this. If you call, try to avoid the afternoons as he is routinely packing out orders. GHG service is outstanding.

GHG is also hosting a tournament soon which will certainly feature FoG. It would be worthwhile to go if only to circulate around, as it will draw players from a number of Texas cities. viewtopic.php?t=12507

I hope this helps.

I can't speak for DFW, but there are five of us in Abilene that actively play FoG. I'm the only one that can read, thus the chosen one to post here. :P We've played just about every set of Ancients rules since WRG 4th Edition (yes, some of us are old farts). There's at least one other in Big Spring that plays (or has interest) and two more out in Midland if they'd stop flying out to rigs in the Gulf and/or hawking ice cream.

The next anywhere close FoG tournament is in the Austin area the weekend of Nov 7 - 8.

Rob has run two FoG tournaments already this year in Austin. I think he's planning six next year ... ...

You and anyone else would be welcome to come out our way to play, but the 6 hour round trip drive out of DFW is a tad bit much.

There is a regular group of Foggers...We play at Area 51 in Grapevine and Ben Toon has been organizing regular games.

Check out the yahoo group LSHM - DFW. 3-4 of us are heading down to Millenium for the FOG tournament. As well, there will be a tournament at Mag-Con in Houston...........in December.

As a matter of fact I am. It hasn't been easy lately, but with luck we should be able to claw our way back from the brink of relegation.
