Swiss order of march

Lets say I have a Swiss army of:

4 BG Pike
4 BG Halberd
4 BG Crossbow
1 BG Handgun
1 BG LH

How would you handle order of march? Would you place the pike last in order to see what the other guy has done? Halberd last? Skirmish first? What's your thinking in how you would deploy?

TBH it dos'nt matter cause if i was drawn against a player with swiss I'd know once I asked what year you were as to Halberds or not. So you see you'll not suprise people and at most you'll have +2 PBI and mostly were you put your lights you put your proper troops behind. I would place the Pikes and Halberds first right oppisite were his camp is and then the skirmishers were ever the terrian allows them.

Sorry put swiss are a bit off a foot army.

You might want to consider putting the crossbows down last. There are quite vulnerable to some troops so you'll want them in the right place. On the other hand the pike don't really mind who they fight and will frequntly go mostly in the middle. So I might be tempted to put most of them down early, perhaps reserving one BG to go down in the last batch as a surprise

I would say pikes first since that is your main hitting force, I agree you might want to keep your lights to the end just for safety sake. I like keeping my LH towards the end because they are such a pain to my opponent so I like to put them down where they can cause the most trouble, or stop my opponent from getting double moves. I usually start them with a general to get that 14 MU to try and get them within 6 MU of my opponent.

Not quite order or march related, but which list represents the Austrians who the Swiss pasted a few times before they got sidetracked pasting the Burgundians?

Early stuff (Mortgarten etc) is Feudal German in Oafs. After 1340 they transform into the Late Med German in Society of Ancients.

1 - 3 Pike
4 Halberd
5 Halberd
6 Pike
7 Handgun
8 LH
9-10 Xbow
11-12 Halberd
13-14 Xbow

The deployment is going to be based around the Pikes, so no sense putting everything else out with a big 8 element wide hole in the middle where the pikes go...

The lone halberd in teh second deployment is there to let you shade your formation a bit to the right or left after seeing the enemy deployment. The single halberd in the first batch should be able to find a safe enough place to go, probably nearish the pike (with plans to fill in between the halberd and the pike with more pike, halberds or xbows)
