New Player...Saying "Hi!" and a couple of question

Hi All,

FIrst off, big thanks to Slitherine for making such a great game. I feel like i've gone back to my days with Panzer General...late nights (Or early mornings depending on how you look at it :) ) I've found myself starting the game over 3 times now (PLaying on very hard) just to get the balance right in my armies so i can complete some of the later missions. Anyhow...highly addictive...very enjoyable game.

Ok...onto the questions...

1) Will you be making more games based on this engine? There are soo many great backdrops for future games...Napoleonic, American Civil War, Medieval etc...

2) I've installed the 2 MODS and believe that i've followed the directions (pretty straightforward). But when i launch the game i don't get any kind of pop-up for a campaign to choose. One point is that i haven't actually finished the Roman campaign yet...maybe i need to do that first?

3) Lastly...my one and only tweak i'd like to see would be one in which Fame was actually a factor in the game. As i see it right now it's a non-issue...either the cost of replenishment in "Fame" should be MUCH greater or much less should be doled out. I's at the second Punic wars and have likk 300k fame when it cost MAYBE 1K to replenish all troops. This would make for a much more challenging game and one of the reasons the Britanicus Mod was of interest to me. (BTW...ty to POSSUM for all his hard work...i'm sure i'll enjoy it once i get it goin...and finsih the ROMAN campaign...and start the Gaul...hehe)

Anyway, thx again Slitherine...great game and a huge improvement over Legion (First game of yours that i bought)

cheers,
Direwolf

Mods should trigger the popup no matter what your state of play. Work rechecking that you have named the directories exactly as described.

Cheers

Pip

Thanks for the feedback. Arena Warriors is using some elements of the Arena design, but will be much improved so check it out.

If you like Panzer General, check out Commander - Europe at War!

Hello, Direwolf, and welcome aboard! :)

Possum here, author of the Britannicus mod.

As Pip said, you should get a popup right after game launch, asking you what mod (or none) to choose.

Since that's not happening, it pretty much has to be a directory structure issue. Assming you've installed your copy of LA in the default location, the structure to my mod should be like this -

C:\Program Files\BlackBean\LegionArena\Mod\Brit

Can you verify that and get back to us, please?

Oh, and kudos to you if you're playing on the Very Hard setting; that's a tough row to hoe :)

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the feedback and comments. Iian...i'm all over Arena Warriors and Europe at War, both games are right up my alley!

Possum...just wanted to let you know that you're a HUGE (IMHO) asset to this community. I've been gaming for "cough" a while and it's always a few dedicated peeps in the community that help take the game to the next level. I've trolled through the boards and as a newbie wanted you to know that i for one have really appreciated your thoughts and efforts to help the community.

On the game front, finished the Roman campaign last night and am working on the Celts now. Much more pillaging and looting to follow! :)

cheers,
DW

Hehe, why thanks, Dire. That's very nice of you to say so, but there are many others who also contribute a lot.

Did you ever get that mod menu to come up? If not, have you checked out that directory path yet?

Yes, we certainly value Possum's input!
