Ok, ive tried desinging my own army and battled a mate. he absolutely destroyed my army and i only killed 4 bases =(.
i realy need help. if anyone has a good ancient English army list please tell me.

ok, firstly what are you up against, and then what did you take last time?
If i remember the usual take is max the chariots and win the flanks while not loosing the centre?

Lots of chariots and lights, also take Elite warband if possible. Skirmish like mad and draw their line apart. Use chariots aggresively once his battle line is fractured and then unleash the warband.

I second that. Without further information we can't say whether the problem is the list or the tactics, nor determine what changes to the list would be helpful or detrimental.

If you want a general purpose list that could be effective against anything then take a good balance of all troop types. If you go with the " max chariots, no warriors" version, you will be vulnerable to most bow-armed troops. Against a lot of things the chariots don't fight much better than the warriors, sometimes they are worse, but they are more mobile so it is handy to have a few.

It is not an easy army to win with because none of its troops are particularly effective against any decent opposition. You have to master the art of combined arms tactics coupled with poor command and control. Even the elite warriors are not that good - rerolling 1s and 2s does not help you much when you need 5s and 6s to hit.

Persevere with it and when you eventually try an army with troops that can actually fight and manoeuvre properly you will find it easy to do well.
