Research - a BJR Mod Suggestion

I didn't notice the thread asking for suggestions for the great BJR Mod (OK, I didn't look that hard). But one little thing I would very much like to see is for a semi-random research option.

Currently, the options are =
(1) Normal research, which is boring and predictable.
(2) Random research, which is interesting - but very erratic.

I usually play random research unless my opponent prefers normal, because I like the variety and the fact that you don't know exactly when upgrades will become available. But occassionally, it can be a bit crazy - with almost no research progress in one area and rapid progress in others. I'd prefer something about 50% or so less random than random research - but still random, with occassional breakthroughs interspersed with slower progress. Call it semi-random research.

I'm with you on research. It would be very nice to have an option in between the two extremes. I don't know how difficult this would be to program though.

One little UI tweak I would like to see is that the last selected build for a given country is the default choice when reentering that country's screen at a later time. So for example if building a destroyer for the UK and then changing to the USSR the selected build would be an armor or corp or whatever was last selected.

I have mistanenly build a corp for the UK more than once at the start of a turn. The Russians had build corp at the end of the last turn, and entry to the production screen at this next turn had that Russian unit at the top. Much to my chagrin, hitting the Purchase button produced a UK unit rather than a USSR unit.

An Undo on purchases this turn would be useful also.
