RUSS armies

I will face an russ army next sunday, what does this army look like?? i will play with an LaTer ottomn turk, any suggestions???

The are identical to athenians from 1000 years earlier.

I got a russ army home, so: about 5bg of 8 of off spear, then either armored sup off spear or heavy cav + LH bow.
Your opponent can either go for steppes allies or more viking (which means more of spear and more armored)
He can pack LI bow as support of his spears (just in case you want to play with your serbian knight)
His weakness would be:
-too slow
-lack of good cav (the only he could get would be the bulgarian lancers)
-no quality medium infantry.
-few superior troops in his army
Once his LH down with your LH lancers you should be able to turn him to ashes with your bow and your arty

Thanks to all, but it was easy done.
He fielded some 6 BG of protected Offensive spearmen, 2 BG of unprotected bow MF, no LF!! and an pecheneg ally, 2 6 st Ave Cv protected...
I put lots of terrain where to break his spears order, and fight with my 2 Jenissaries BG, as protected as him and with bow+sword, and superior... my Cv+LH+ Bw easily broke his Cv and LH, soon hios 2 unprot MF bow BG were beaten too, and the serba took some time but broke one Off Sp BG in open. I loste soma basses but no BGs...
Quite easy don, but next time he will prepare a very different russ army

first of all: congratz!
a very different army?
well well well, he hasnt much option actually.
one way would be to go for bulgar ally
then you got:
druzhina 1bgx6
off spear 4bg*6 + 2bg*6+3 li support
then let s say archer 1bg*8
and LH 1bg*6
his ally should give him some punch:
2bg*4 HC lancer
LH 2bg*4LH
With something like this he should be around 800pts.
His allied wing should be strong enough to punch and his infantry line thicker enough to block you significant part of the map.
What was your list for your last battle?

4x Akinjis
4x Other balkan LH ave, bow, sw
4x Azab Handgunner, poor (8 points !!!!)
8x jenissaries( prot)
4x timariots Arm, sup
4x timariots Arm, sup
4x Qapuqulu, superior
8x jenissary (prot)
4x Azaps HdG poor
2x Qapuqulu Sup
4x Serbian Kn full metal jacket
CnC is a TC, others a FC and a TC and the serbian Allied TC.
