So my question is Does a pike block say 8 stands 4 deep have to lose two stands to lose the 4 th rank bonus or just one stand (I have seen this interpreted both ways as well)? thanks again

POAs are calculated by file. The file with 4 stands gets the 4th pike rank bonus. The one without does not.

yup. a tip is to always calculate POA and roll combat dice file by file.
sure as heck makes it easier to work out if your BG has won or lost a combat.

Lets say my "1st file: 3 deep, 2nd file: 4 deep"-pikes are disrupted and thereby lose 1 dice per 3? Which file loses one dice?

You get to choose as long as at least 1 dice is allocated to each file in this case.

When troops are disrupted you have to split the lost dice according to the rules on P94
You actually don't get to choose very often as most of the time the dice that are lost are defined.
