counters free-standing rather than sitting on a counter like a more traditional board game.

I presume that means like chess pieces or like Strategic Command 2.

Most units were a mixture of various arms, though some might be tank heavy and some infantry heavy.

I hope each and every armoured unit is not represented by a Tiger tank like Grisby's A World at War.

Yes they will appear like a unit in Command and Conquer of SC2.

The size of formations we are dealing with is too large scale to have entire units of Tigers or Panthers, instead each will be a mix of various different equipment. However we will be using different tanks to show technological progress.

Will we have the option to turn the units appearance into military symbols...i am sure most wargamers would want that (like in Hearts of Iron).

Same here. I see the "frame" stuff, and then just a big white blank where the content of the page should be

That doesn't seem to work, Iain.

The top news item is the one from 8/22 about the new concept artwork. One can scroll down to the news item from 8/8 and follow that link, but it leads to the July dev diary...no sign of August :)

Although, it islabelled July 2007
