I am playing for two months one single map against my friend. Since yesterday game crashes when I click to see opponent move.
I didn't change anything, any other similar reports?

Update: crash fixed. Windows update KB 5124010 from 23.09. deinstalled. With this update I can not run the game.

An optional Windows 11 preview update, KB5124010, is being blamed by PC players for crashing Battlefield 6 and some other online games. Microsoft released the non-security preview on 22 September 2026 for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2, taking those builds to 26100.9550 and 26200.9550.

Players say Battlefield 6 often closes to the desktop 15 to 30 seconds after launch, with no error on screen. Similar reports hit Wardogs, where Team17 pointed to a WD-L020 error and said uninstalling the update is the current workaround.

An EA forum helper said the reports were passed to developers and suggested rolling back preview updates. Microsoft’s KB page does not list a game-crash known issue, and the patch is optional, so it will not install unless you choose it.

Microsoft has confirmed that recent Windows 11 updates can leave a black screen after sign-in instead of the desktop. The problem started with the August 27, 2026 preview updates - KB5120996 on version 26H1 and KB5120998 on 24H2 and 25H2 - and later cumulative updates can trigger it too.

i've de installed windows updates, and yet still my multiplayer game crashes when 'play' button it pressed.. any suggestions please? been playing this game since the start... have 3 very good buddies, and haven't played for 3 days.. extremely cheesed, and missing it!

Try to play a single player match or load an old one. If that doesn't work too, it is the latest update. Be sure just to deinstall the related update (see above). If you can play offline against your computer it is probably your firewall. Sometimes Win changes something with their defender etc. Shut it down and, if you have, additional antivirus software for a while and test tge game.

I can only describe for German computer: system - windows update - Updateverlauf (update history?). Then scroll down to the bottom, there is a feature called 'verwandte Einstellungen ( related settings?) . There you can remove updates particulary!
