Teams as follows:

Martin Buxton and Steve Clarke................Later Hungarian
Roger Greenwood and Alistair Moore.........Mamluk
Adrian Steer and Robert Taylor.................Late Republican Roman
Paul Crozier and Tony Robinson................Seljuq Turk (Rum)
Neil Howard and Nick Hewitt......................Later Low Countries
Andy Wallace and Martin Routh..................Later Carthaginian
Mick Hood and Neil Duffell.........................Imperial German
Matthew and Andrew Martin.......................Middle Hungarian
Leslie Mitchell...........................................Later Seleucid
James Hamilton and Michele Minett............Later Sicilian
Dave Redhead.........................................Seljuq Turk
Andy McKay and Dave Hoey.....................Philistine
Bob Amey and Chris Thorne.....................100 Years War English
Dave Ruddock and Dave Eltringham..........Santa Hermandad Nueva Castilian

Small note of interest - Leslie and Dave have kindly agreed to spli their team to even up their numbers, but they both managed to provide illegal army lists, so one team supplied both of the illegal army lists in this round :)

At the Northern Doubles we have a class system, which is basically the amount of superior and elite troops you have in your army - more than 225 = class two, more than 450 = class one and less than 225 is class three. If you have more than 15 BG's you increase by one class as well.

There is a bonus to your score if you break a higher class army.

There is only one army in this round with more than 15 BG's, so all this talk about swarm armies is clearly not believed when there are extra points to be had :)

Well my army is only later because I just looked through the latest book released to come up with one. It could just as easily have been Mittanni

For us Southern 'nancy boys' which is the best way to the venue. The Sat Nav and the AA have two different routes one via Break Neck (sound dodgy!).
Or should we turn left at the cloth cap factory and then right by the whippet kennels?

Is the Later Scicilian the one with the MF in sharp suits and armed with stilettos?

Your SatNav won't work in Yorkshire I'm afraid as the US military deliberately misinforms SatNav in third world countries.

Apparently, I was wrong - there was only one illegal list. Apparently I had a moment of stupidity and expected a file that was called "seleucid.xls" to actually be a Seleucid army, rather than the Early Successor it actually was....

For anyone with a dodgy sat nav. You need to come up the hill out of Halifax on the A58 Leeds road. If you are coming from the Leeds direction on the A58, then you have to go down the hill, come off left to go under the flyover and go round the roundabout to get back up the hill.

As you near the top of the hill, there is a slip road at a very small angle to the road. It is nearly straight aheads as the road bends slightly right. (Sign post is Claremount or Shibden park I think). Take the 90 degree first left at the top of this rise and a couple of hundred yards further on, the Belgrave Social club is on the right.

Thanks Roger we have exchanged some money but is there any food - on a Sunday - nearby?

Roger, any on site parking?
Paul.

There should be sufficient on-site parking as well as along the roadside by the venue.

There is a club car park which may be enough for all of us. If not, the road side parking is not a problem.

The bar offers the cheapest drinks I have bought anywhere. Alastair noticed that the only on-site food is a Pringles dispenser. However, there is a Sainsbury two minutes drive back down the hill into Halifax. There is a small row of shops nearby, but I do not know if they open on Sunday.

There was me thinking that it was only an illegal list if it got to the table otherwise it was a wrong list that could and was corrected.
