It was last year but they have added something about it now being a team event of up to four players?
New Team Competition Rules(Taken from BHGS site)
We're combining the club and team competitions this year into a single new team competition. We'll ressurrect the club competition if there is enough interest in following years.
Teams may be made up from any group of players, whether from the same club or not and should consist of up to 4 players.

Fantastic - so Central London will potentially remain Shire Levy Roll Call Club Champions forever then ?
avaiable to make up a team entry.

My son (Byron Emsen - Junior entry) and I have both entered into the 25mm FOG Open Competition and our list have been accepted by Andy.
We are avaiable to make the numbers up for anyone that needs an odd bod

to complete a team entry into Rollcall this year.
Of course if there are enough juniors entered they could make up a team of their own to gives us older teams a run for our money
Cheers

Hi All,

Just one little thing chaps sorry about this,
In the 25/28mm FOG Competition at Roll Call this year which are going to be played on tables 8ft by 4ft this is OK if we are using 1 MU = 1" and if the tables depth is over 4ft ie 5ft or 6ft then are we going to be using 1 MU = 40 mm for movement in this Competition please.

When will we know as the difference is significant if you've never tried 1MU=40mm before and to spring it on players on the day is harsh?
Better surely to make a decision and then if the tables are over 4ft deep then just use tape and mark them as 4ft?

According to the BHGS site the measurements are 1 MU to the inch for both 15mm and 25mm.

If that is the case then there is going to be a very big gap in between both armies
If we are using 8ft by 4ft tables it would be the same as 15mm games i.e. 18” in between LF or LH troops and 28” in between all the rest of the troop types
And if we use 8ft by 5ft tables this goes to 30” and 40”

and on an 8ft by 6ft table it goes to 42” and 52”

which will take the armies a long time to get in battle with each other using only 1” = 1 mu and to get a outcome to the games as well.
If the depth of the tables is over 4 foot then this is what I think we should be using 40mm = 1 mu which makes the deployment armies round about the same as 15mm games and also speeds up the games as well.

All a bit confusing as on the front page for Roll Call on the BHGS site it says 8 by 6 yet click on for more info it says 8 by 4 larger if they get the tables.
I think last year IIRC it was on 4 four foot tables.

Hi,
Just to clarify that the team competition is not a separate period, but simply an aggregation of the individuals (who have decided to form a team) scores in 4 different periods.
There are a good number of teams entered into the team competition this year which is good to see! If you wanted to take part in the team side of things as well but can't find a team, then we would be happy to create some mercenary warbands from individual entries. Just drop us (
bhgs_rollcall@yahoo.co.uk) an email and we'll try and sort you into a team.
Bruce, Jeremy and Andy.
24th-25th October
Roll Call is staying with the same venue and dates as last year!
Roll Call is being held in the Queen’s Hall, Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe.

Apologies all for the confusion on this. The detailed rules are correct and the front page is incorrect (we changed our minds once the true nature of what that really means was pointed out to us). We'll get that fixed.

Hi bddbrown
Just sent an e-mail to

Any ideas?
